Building a PERMA Life: Flourishing Together, Conquering the New Normal Stronger

The National Police Commission Regional Office No. 1 conducted a webinar on November 3, 2020 focusing on Applying Positive Psychology in the Workplace with the theme “Building a PERMA Life: Flourishing Together, Conquering the New Normal Stronger” participated by police officers from the four (4) police provincial offices and NAPOLCOM employees from other regional offices.
Atty. Jerome LB Asuga, Regional Director of NAPOLCOM Regional Office No. 10 as Guest of Honor highlighted the importance of positive emotions, positive attitude and positive energy in rendering the best public service. He shared some basic tips on how to be positive by offering the SSE- Smile, Service and Excellence in work.
Ms. Russelle Ane A. Dela Cruz, MAGC, RGC as the Guest Speaker provided a thorough understanding of the application of positive psychology in the workplace and recognizing the psychological capital within the individual. A differentiation between ‘Surviving’ and ‘Thriving’ was also discussed and the application of PERMA at work and life. In between the discussions, Ms. Dela Cruz interestingly facilitated some various individual and group activities as a form of workshops and to stir up interactions within the participants. Lastly, Ms. Dela Cruz left a simple encouragement by saying “Hand in hand, we flourish together and conquer this new normal stronger.”
