The Local Insurgency and IED Mitigating Advertence (LIIMA) is an initiated program that capacitates Force Multipliers and other law enforcement institutions on the three (3) major spheres of IED starting from detection, identification, report preparation, and counter measures.
This program is designed to prevent, protect against, respond to and mitigate risk to the communities or country’s people and critical infrastructure. It specifically aims to build awareness, train and empower territorial/local participants to include Force Multipliers improve the overall security readiness and awareness of general public by expanding knowledge on improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and to counter current threats for the protection of people and property.
The conduct of the Culminating Activity of LIIMA for the Province of Ilocos Sur was held on October 29, 2020 at 9:00 A.M. at NAPOLCOM Regional Office 1 – Conference Room, Government Center, Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union and through the video conferencing using the Zoom Application for the participants assigned in the different police stations/units of the Province of Ilocos Sur
The course covered the period of September 9, 2020 to October 29, 2020, with a credit of 240 hours of instruction. Said activity was initiated by the undersigned in collaboration with Capt Rannon Yvert Anthony M Cañada (CAV) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines – Philippine Army (AFP-PA) as Subject Matter Expert (SME).
During the culminating activity, Ms. Jamila Brianna Leslie R. Ordoño led the invocation followed by the acknowledgement of participants of Ms. Richelle Mae F. Ocampo. Atty. Mary Hazel G. Bela-o, Chief of Legal Affairs Unit/Provincial Officer for La Union warmly welcomed the participants. Atty. Phillip Raymund S. Rivera, Chief of the Regional Investigation Unit/ Provincial Officer of Ilocos Norte then introduced the Guest of Honor and Speaker, PCol Ronald M Tagao, Provincial Director of Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office who delivered his keynote message. Capt Rannon Yvert Anthony M Cañada of AFP-PA as the Subject Matter Expert highlighted in his short message the important roles of participants as champions on curbing threats brought about by insurgencies.
The program was successfully closed by Atty. Arnold Q. Miña, Chairman of the Regional Appellate Board.
There were fifty-seven (57) out of one hundred and twelve (112) completers of said activity.
