La Union Student Advisers and SSG Leaders attend SCPC


Amidst pandemic, student awareness on crime prevention campaign of the government can be observed in schools and social media websites. To provide full support to this campaign, a Memorandum of Understanding dated September 1, 2005 was executed, which was entered into by and among the NAPOLCOM, the DepEd and CHED. The creation of the Student Crime Prevention Committee (SCPC) was through the DepEd Order No. 1 series of 2006.

Thus, the NAPOLCOM Regional Office No. 1 conducted the Student Crime Prevention Committee Webinar for Schools Division of La Union on the 11th day of May, 2021 at 1:30 PM. This webinar aimed to orient student advisers and leaders of Supreme Student Government (SSG) to fully participate in addressing crime prevention movement between NAPOLCOM and various institutions in the region.

There were 72 participants who actively joined said webinar with 35 National High Schools of La Union. An Audio Video Presentation (AVP) of the Overview of SCPC was presented. After which, Atty. Phillip Raymund S. Rivera, Chief of Regional Investigation Unit tackled the topic entitled, “RA 9995 also known as “Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009”. He further explained and provided examples related to the topic. He reminded all the participants to be cautious in taking their actions especially in capturing photos or videos then posting it in social media websites without proper consent.
