Launching of Intelligence Analyst Program (IAP)

National Police Commission Regional Office No. 1 launched the Intelligence Analyst Program (IAP) on August 13, 2020, a joint project of the region together with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 1 and Military Intelligence Group-1, Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The program is specifically designed to provide an understanding of Intelligence Analysis and basic analytic skills necessary to produce logically sound and descriptive intelligence analysis in order to be an efficient and effective Intelligence Analysts.
LTCOL Rey C Rico delivered his Keynote Message to the participants affirming the very essential role of Intelligence Analysts nowadays. He emphasized Intelligence Analysts as part of the first line of defense for national security wherein the mastering of critical thinking, analytical and logical skills and decision-making are vital necessities to consider. He left a note re-stating what Benjamin Franklin have said, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”
Hon. Felizardo M. Serapio, Jr., Commissioner, NAPOLCOM, served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker wherein he provided a concise and excellent lecture on the learning objectives of the program along with real illustrations and situational records, the different topics incorporated within the program and the SARA Model (Scanning, Analysis, Response and Assessment ) which highlights the intelligence cycle and analysis production. He also shared a timely note on how to respond with the new normal- the 3 C’s: Cooperation, Consultation and Collaboration. Comr. Serapio ended his presentation with a quote saying “What our age lacks is not reflection, but passion.”
