NAPOLCOM RO1 attends 26th PCR Month Culminating Activity

On 30 July 2021 at 8:00 A.M, the National Police Commission – Regional Office 1 headed by Atty. Monday R. Samson, Regional Director duly represented by Atty. Mary Hazel G. Bela-o, Chief of Legal Affairs Unit and Provincial Officer for La Union together with Ms. Kristina Luisa R. Mendoza, LEEO II/Provincial Staff for La Union, Mr. Rodelio B. Rebudela, Planning Officer I and Ms. Cecile Joy C. Ofiana, Administrative Aide IV attended the culminating ceremony of the month-long celebration of the 26th Police Community Relations with the theme, “Pulisya at Pamayanan, BARANGAYanihan sa Hamon ng Pandemya at Laban sa Krimen” conducted by Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) under the leadership of PBGen Emmanuel B Peralta, Regional Director held at Camp BGen Oscar M Florendo, Parian, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Said activity through an Audio Visual Presentation highlighted the accomplished Programs, Projects and Activities (PPAs) on said celebration. Also, awarding of plaques of recognition were given to outstanding PCR Units and individuals. The Outstanding Police Community Affairs Development (PCAD) Units for CY 2021 were 104^th Maneuver Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 1 as Outstanding RMFB1 Maneuver Company, La Union Police Provincial Office (PPO) as Outstanding PPO, 1^st Police Mobile Force Company (PMFC) of Ilocos Sur PPO as Outstanding PMFC, San Fernando City Police Station (CPS) as Outstanding CPS, and Naguilian Municipal Police Station (MPS) as Outstanding MPS. The Outstanding PCAD individuals for 2021 were PCol Jonathan J Calixto, La Union PPO Provincial Director as Outstanding PCAD Senior PCO, PMaj Fermin A Farro, Chief of PCADU, LUPPO as Outstanding PCAD Junior PCO, PSMS Maria Caridad D Godoy, PCAD PNCO of San Fernando CPS as Outsanding PCAD Senior PNCO, PSSg Lenie A Ferreras, PCAD PNCO of Naguilian MPS as Outstanding PCAD Junior PNCO, and NUP Erlinda A. Tayamen of PCADU, INPPO as Outstanding PCAD NUP.

Furthermore, Atty. Bela-o delivered a message in behalf of Atty. Samson. She congratulated PRO 1, four Police Regional Offices – Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan, city /municipality police stations, awardees of said activity and the community for all the commendable and successful conduct of PCR Month celebration activities such as “Patubig ng Pulis”,” Pailaw ng Pulis”, “Pagupit ng Pulis”, “Road Cleaning Operations”, “Coastal Clean-up Drive”, “Tree Planting”, “Awareness Promotion Programs through social media websites”, and other outreach programs that increases the involvement between PNP Members and the community. She also mentioned the advocate of NAPOLCOM RO1 which is the conduct of Community Service-Oriented Policing (CSOP) System and PCR Month as an effective avenue to strengthen the implementation of CSOP System. Then, she encouraged everyone to continue the conduct of such activities even beyond the PCR Month celebration. She enumerated the activities conducted and participated by NAPOLCOM RO1 in observance of PCR Month such as Tree Planting Activity and Coastal Clean-Up Drive conducted by PRO1, and BARANGAYanihan cum Outreach Program for Senior Citizens. She expressed that the Regional Office will continue to support in the conduct of PPAs of PNP that promotes community welfare.

Atty. Bela-o continued her speech as she promoted the NAPOLCOM Online Learning Hub and social media websites of the Regional Office. She enumerated the on-going and upcoming programs of the Regional Office to include Law Enforcement Agent Program (LEAP) in partnership with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 1, Confidential Background Investigators Training in partnership with National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Regional Office 1, Local Insurgency and IED Mitigating Advertence (LIIMA) in partnership with Philippine Army, Forensic, Arson and Correctional Training (FACT) in partnership with PNP, Bureau of Fire Protection and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.

Moreover, NAPOLCOM RO1 awarded PBGen Peralta with Plaque of Recognition as well as Engr. Tan to recognize their effort and support to the PCR Month and Regional Office’s PPAs. After which, she congratulated everyone for their commitment to public service for the betterment of the community.

Said activity was graced by Engr. Ronnel M. Tan, Regional Director of Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office No. 1 duly represented by Atty. Clarence B. Rimando Chief, Right of Way Acquisition and Legal Division as Guest of Honor and Speaker. In his speech, he congratulated all the awardees of said celebration and encouraged them to continue their passion of helping the community. He applauded the strong relationship between PNP Members and the community in maintaining public safety and effective policing. He also said that PNP Members were reliable in providing awareness about crime prevention.

“Community members” willingness to trust the PNP actions reflects community value, incorporates the principles of criminal justice and created mutual trust between PNP and the Community”, Atty. Rimando added. He also commended the efforts of PNP amidst pandemic to include checkpoints and emergency responses that defines the true meaning of “malasakit”.
