NAPOLCOM RO1 recognizes Senior Citizens of Brgy. Casilagan, Bauang, La Union


The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) as the oversight body of the Philippine National Police (PNP) is developing programs and activities in partnership with the Police Regional Office 1 through the conduct of an Outreach Program to the community especially to the Senior Citizens. The outreach program aimed to recognize the importance of Senior Citizens in our society, spread love and care and build stronger relationship and partnership with the people of the community amidst the pandemic.

The Regional Office headed by Atty. Monday R. Samson, Regional Director with the assistance of Bauang Municipal Police Station headed by PMaj Jeoffrey E Sanchez, conducted an outreach program for the Senior Citizens of Brgy. Casilagan, Bauang, La Union on June 23, 2021 at 9 o’clock in the morning. Said outreach program was joined by 50 beneficiaries who received simple gifts to include food packs and hygiene kits.

An information drive was also conducted wherein Atty. Mary Hazel D. Gavina-Bela-o, Provincial Officer for La Union and Chief of Legal Affairs Unit briefly discussed the topic “Republic Act No. 9994 also known as Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010”. After which, PCpl Jurie Q. Naungayan representative from Bauang Municipal Police Station shared the information campaign of Department of Health “BIDA Solusyon sa CoVID-19”. BIDA stands for “Bawal walang mask!”, “I-sanitize ang kamay! Iwas hawak sa bagay!”, “Dumistansya ng isang metro!”, and “Alamin ang tamang impormasyon!”. He also showed the different types of mask and its percentage of effectivity.

The barangay officials and beneficiaries were very grateful on said program.
