Prosecution, Law Enforcement and Community Coordinating Service (PROLECCS)

The National Police Commission Regional Office No. 1 hosted the Prosecution, Law Enforcement and Community Coordinating Service (PROLECCS) dialogue for the Province of Pangasinan on August 26, 2020. This program is a forum for the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the prosecutors to identify gray areas on legal and procedural matters affecting case build-up.
The program was graced by Gov. Amado I. Espino III, represented by Atty. Nimrod S. Camba, the Provincial Administrator of the Province of Pangasinan.
In attendance to said dialogue were 80 Chiefs of Police and Investigators from various police stations in the Province of Pangasinan.
During the discussion proper, Pros. Jeffrey J. Catungal, Assistant Provincial Prosecutor, discussed RA 11331 known as Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act and Art. 151 of the Revised Penal Code which punishes resistance and disobedience to a person in authority or the agents of such person; Pros. Silvestre Redemptor A. Ridao, City Prosecutor of Urdaneta City, enlightened the participants on Inquest proceedings; and Pros. Mitchel A. Go, Deputy City Prosecutor, Office of the City Prosecutor, talked about RA 11469 or the “Bayanihan To Heal As One” Act and other related laws.
Questions raised during the open forum focused on violations and penalties of RA 11469 and Inquest Proceedings.
